Alignment Configuration

Subsonus must be aligned to any position or heading aiding sources. The Alignment page allows the user to enter an alignment offset to a Subsonus in the event that it cannot be installed inline with a vehicle or a heading reference source.

The page contains a visual representation of the axis as well as the physical device relative to these axis.

Orientation

Subsonus can be configured as a Surface or a Subsea device. Ensure the correct orientation is selected for the device. The model in the visual representation will flip to display the orientation that is chosen.

Alignment Offset

If Subsonus is not mounted in a standard orientation an Alignment Offset will need to be configured. The surface unit alignment offsets must be correct in order to ensure accurate positioning data of the subsea unit relative to the vessel. The offset is the difference in degrees between the axes of the Subsonus device and the axes of the vessel.

Roll is rotation about the X-axis, Pitch is rotation about the Y-axis and Heading is rotation about the Z-axis. See The Sensor Co-ordinate Frame for the alignment directions.
